DATA IS POWER.

A Data Visualization Tool for Actionable Insights

Data visualization analysis is providing businesses with a competitive advantage in today’s world. Students can also learn from data visualization using a company’s real-time data - which allows them to practically apply data analysis skills they have learned in their college curriculum.

The Data Trade Gateway initiative, created and executed by NCSU Wilson College of Textiles researchers, connects minority-owned small businesses, HBCU students, and HBCU professors to data visualization tool leading to actionable insights and impactful results for all.

The 3 key objectives of the
Data Trade Gateway Initiative

1

Transfer the skill of analysis and data visualization to minority owned business owners to help them better plan and execute the operations of their businesses.

2

Give HBCU students hands-on experience utilizing data visualization software by serving as a “consultant” to assigned business.

3

Allow faculty at area North Carolina HBCUs to foster knowledge of data science within their curriculum through data visualization tool.
